GOP Address: We Need an ‘All-Of-the-Above' Energy Plan

Fox News -- “Hi, I’m Congressman Doc Hastings from the state of Washington. I chair the House Natural Resources Committee, which handles several issues relating to job creation, including American energy production.

“As you’ve painfully noticed, gas prices are rising quickly, already topping four dollars a gallon in some areas. On average, prices at the pump are more than double what they were when President Obama took office.

“Americans are right to worry that no relief is in sight. The president, who campaigned on a promise to address rising gas prices, now talks as if they’re largely beyond his control. This week, when the president’s Energy Secretary was asked whether the administration’s goal is to lower gas prices, the secretary’s answer was ‘no.’ Incredibly, one Democrat leader in

@VomVom: Last June the Obama administration launched an investigation that threatened $1 million/day fines against speculators. Gas stopped rising and stabilized until about a month ago.

The bottomline is, President Obama has been in office for over 3 years and he had control of both the senate and the house for the first 2 years. What has he done with regards to a long term energy policy? What has he done to prevent gas prices from going through the roof? He didn't even regulate the speculators.

predicting the future is always tricky. there are too many developments that point at the rise of other energy sources & the retreat of oil. He's right on wanting an "All-of-the-above" energy plan.

Obama has no interest in lowering the price of oil and gas, or keeping the dollar from sinking on foreign exchange markets. Our cost of living will keep going up if we vote for this idiot again this November.

He has been lying and telling us a lot of half-truths for the past four years and his insane alternative energy plan will make EVERYTHING more expensive. I don't understand how he thinks his "plans" are supposed to make the lives for the voters better in any way shape or form except for those who make a lot of money.

I certainly will never be able to afford a 41000 dollar Chevy Volt or any new car, no matter how much it may cost. Guess I will get a bicycle and resume eating frozen burritos and TV dinners.

I am not voting for Obama again, no matter how bad the GOP candidate is... and I have never voted for a republican president before.

Is President Obama's April 21st task force on high oil and gas prices ever going to report back? The president’s Energy Secretary makes it clear that Obama wants high gas prices. Shame on Obama!

Why can't we put all this political finger pointing aside and work together on an energy policy that is good for AMERICA,

If we concentrated on fixing the problem instead of whose fault it is/was/will be we would be better off already.

If you don't like the article because it interferes with your view on Obama. Google videos of Obama speaking about gas prices and raising the debt ceiling in 2008!

But they scoff at the administration when Bio-fuel (algae, Kelp, etc.) are mentioned for consideration like it's some sort of "voo-doo science". Funny, but McCain-Palin, Michael Steele, and a bunch of GOP'ers were spouting the "All-Of-The Above" line everytime a camera pointed in their direction in back in 2008.

Hopefully the eventual GOP nominee will explain to the American people what this administration has done to block the development of our own resources, and how much of our tax money has been squandered on sham companies like Solyndra as well as all of the other green energy boondoggles.

Identify the true conservatives, the people with genuine conservative fiscal and moral values and beliefs and vote for them. Without a doubt, this definition excludes virtually all of the incumbent politicians (Democrat and some Republicans).

Get back to spending to what comes in to the government coffers or possibly even a tad less.

The Keystone pipeline is not an all-of-the-above energy plan.

The GOP doesn't have a clue but what do you expect from people that brought us the "me" generation.

I see the Republics are still pushing their "call the rich Job Creators™" meme.

About Secretary Chu's comment about an administration goal to lower gas prices... gasoline does operate in the free market, right? You wouldn't want some socialist communist marxist fascist placing price controls on the market or government seizing private control of the marketplace, would you?

i see their "all of the above" plan doesn't say a thing about putting regulations on the speculators that are driving up prices.

oh, that's right. they're part of the speculation problem.

Very political. I like how you are trying to make us fear one particular politician. I will be sure not to vote for you with your slanderous tendencies...
